Updated: 19 hours ago
Are you planning a trip to Greece and wondering how to tour the beautiful Greek islands? Look no further than the ferry boat tours departing from Athens.

One such tour took me to the islands of Poros and Aegina, offering breathtaking scenery and unforgettable experiences. While this tour normally includes a visit to Hydra, I unfortunately missed out on this stop due to wind conditions. But that just gives me another reason to return to Greece in the future.
These ferry boat tours offer an excellent way to see the Greek islands without the stress and expense of renting a private boat. You can sit back, relax, and take in the stunning views of the Aegean Sea and the beautiful coastline of the islands. And with knowledgeable guides on board, you can learn about the history and culture of the islands as you explore.
On my tour, I started the day with a visit to the island of Poros, a quaint and picturesque town with narrow streets and charming shops. The highlight of the visit was the view from the top of the hill, where the clock tower and a Greek flag proudly stand. The panoramic view of the sea and the town below was simply breathtaking.
Next, we sailed to the island of Aegina, known for its pistachio production and beautiful beaches. I highly recommend taking one of the island tours, however they are not included in the cruise price, so make sure to bring cash on board of at least 100 Euros per person. One of the highlights of the visit to Aegina was the ancient Temple of Aphaia, a well-preserved temple dedicated to the goddess Aphaia. The temple, built in 490 BCE, making it one of the oldest temples in Greece. It is a remarkable example of ancient Greek architecture and offers an insight into the religious practices of the time.

Also on Aegina is the Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity - Saint Nectarios of Aegina. This towering monastery stands out with its impressive architecture, attracting visitors from all over the world. It is a sacred site of pilgrimage for the Greek Orthodox Church, as it houses the relics of Saint Nectarios, a much-loved and revered saint who performed numerous miracles during his lifetime. The monastery's intricate design and impressive structure are a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the builders who constructed it. Visiting this site is a unique opportunity to witness some of the most beautiful and unique architecture in Greece, and to learn more about the country's rich religious and cultural history.
Overall, the ferry boat tour of the Greek islands is an excellent way to see some of the most beautiful destinations in Greece. Whether you're a history buff, a beach lover, or just looking to take in the stunning scenery, the ferry tour will leave you wanting to explore more!
